About the verses & sources
These are the 18 rhymes in Sierra's original DOS game. Most wording was transcribed from screenshots of the 1987 EGA version, keeping its short verses and unusual phrasing. Two verses have unverified lines marked beneath them. Capitalization, punctuation, and line wrapping are lightly normalized; other DOS editions may differ.
The original wording is retained, including the old woman's final line. Preview the verses together as you practice.
